Privacy policy

SkeenaOne is a free Canadian finance and tax information website, made in Prince Rupert, British Columbia. We are responsible for the personal information described here.

All calculations run on your own device. Your salary, family income, lease details and other inputs are not sent to us or stored by us.

When you choose "Printable summary", your result is saved in your browser's local storage so the summary page can show it. It stays on your device until you clear your browser data.

If you choose to subscribe, we collect your name, email address, occupation, province or territory, the topics you pick, how often you want updates, and a record of your consent (its wording and date).

We use this only to send you the updates you asked for and to make them relevant to you. Your details are stored with the email service we use to send updates, which may store data outside Canada. We never sell or rent your information.

You can unsubscribe from any email. We then stop sending you updates and delete your details within 30 days, unless the law requires us to keep them.

Only with your permission, apart from one essential item that remembers your cookie choice. When you first visit, we ask you to choose:

• Essential: remembers your cookie choice and your printable summary in your browser. Always on, never shared.
• Analytics: Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to count visits and see which pages help people. Off until you accept.
• Advertising: measures whether our ads on other websites work. Off until you accept.

Until you accept, no Google script loads on this site. If you later withdraw consent, we turn these tools off and delete their cookies from this site. We ask again after 12 months.

Cookie settings lets you change your choice at any time. Google's use of data is described in How Google uses information from sites that use its services.

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent and ask us to delete it. Contact us by replying to any SkeenaOne email, or using the unsubscribe link in it. We will reply within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. In Quebec, you can also contact the Commission d'accès à l'information.

The site is served only over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Subscription details are sent directly to our email service and are not kept on our web servers. We keep the information only as long as you stay subscribed.

If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and its date. For important changes we will tell subscribers by email. See also our methodology and sources.
